From burnout to breadcrumbs (and the workshop that followed)
For when the career you’ve built starts feeling a little... off.
Hola friends! 👋
This isn’t my usual newsletter drop, but it's a special edition for the quietly restless (maybe that's you).
Because this 👇 keeps coming up in client calls and drinks with friends lately, and I think it’s worth pausing for:
It’s not that everything’s falling apart. It’s that the old version of “success” doesn’t feel quite right anymore. And the question bubbling up behind the scenes is:
“So… now what?”
They’re high-achieving, thoughtful humans in tech. People who’ve done all the “right” things, only to find themselves stuck, uninspired, or unsure of what’s next.
Some of them are sitting in personal development talks with their manager, dreading the question: “So… what’s your next goal?” Because they don’t have an answer.
Others keep saying yes to the big, complex projects hoping it’ll rekindle inspiration — but all it does is inch them closer to burnout.
And a few have asked me directly:
“How did you do it?! Go from Head of Product to Coach & Founder so fast after getting laid off?”
Was it fast? Not at all. I didn’t really have a get-out-of-corporate master strategy.
But yes, technically — I had a "plan". If you count side projects with no guaranteed outcomes and a healthy dose of "it'll probably be fine" energy a plan.
By the time I got laid off, I’d already shaken hands with my Magical Audios co-founders, and I had a coaching business that could pay the bills.
But these plans didn’t appear overnight. They were breadcrumbs I’d been dropping since 2019:
Mentoring someone who reminded me of younger me.
Teaching a workshop I wasn’t sure I was qualified to lead.
Sharing violent reactions about the industry in my newsletter.
None of those breadcrumbs looked like “a pivot” when I first said yes to them.
In the beginning, they were just things I wanted to try because they looked fun, exciting, and a little bit terrifying (in a good way).
But those tiny yeses? They gave me energy, confidence, and eventually, the freedom to choose. Now here we are.
That’s what this workshop is about:
🗓 From Stuck to Expansive: Free 90-minute workshop

This isn’t about building a business (unless that’s a door you want to open later).
It’s not about polishing your resume or building a personal brand empire.
And I won’t ask you to define your entire identity in three sticky-notes.
But it is about:
Naming the quiet hunches you’ve been ignoring.
Making space for the stuff that actually gives you energy.
Designing one tiny, honest next step—whether it’s tweaking your current role, testing a wild idea, or just feeling a little more like yourself again.
You might realize you’ve been optimizing for the wrong outcomes.
Maybe your job isn’t broken.
Maybe you’ve just outgrown the container you put yourself in.
Because you weren’t meant to sacrifice your sanity to build another CEO’s dream life.
You don’t need a master plan. But you do deserve to feel like your work fits you — not the other way around.
Come join us. We’ll name what no longer fits and explore what might.
Maybe this workshop is your breadcrumb. Just one honest next step... together.
See you there? 🔮
